The decision was not easy, but it was necessary. We could either release the film quickly and risk compromising the audience experience, or wait, fix everything properly, and bring the film to viewers in the best possible way.
We chose quality over hurry. After months of preparation, testing, and rebuilding the release experience, Century is finally ready to stream on 6 May 2026, only on Singularity Pictures.
The Original Plan
The original release date of Century was 14 February 2026. The trailer and songs had already created anticipation, and the film was moving toward its public release. But cinema is not only about completing a film; it is also about making sure the audience receives it properly.
For a theatrical release, the screen, sound system, and projection environment are controlled by cinemas. But for an independent OTT release, everything has to work smoothly through the platform itself — payment, login, streaming, playback, security, rental access, and user experience. This made the release more complex than a simple upload.
Why the Release Was Postponed
The postponement was not because the film was forgotten. It happened because the release experience needed to be ready. There were technical areas that required proper attention, including streaming quality, website readiness, user access flow, payment and rental system, playback testing, secure video delivery, audience experience, and platform stability.
For an independent film, every small technical issue can affect how the audience feels about the movie. A great film can lose impact if viewers face problems while watching it. So instead of rushing, we decided to wait.
Why We Chose Quality Over Hurry
A release date is important, but audience trust is more important. When viewers pay to watch a film, they deserve a smooth and respectful experience. They should be able to watch without confusion, broken links, access problems, or technical interruptions.
For Century, the goal was not just to release a film. The goal was to create a complete viewing experience through Singularity Pictures, where the audience can watch the film directly, securely, and comfortably. The delay was difficult, but it made the release stronger.
